Family Bulletin: Meet the Teacher Update

Dear Families of Longfellow,

The changes in our building have been significant, and the work will need to continue during our “Meet the Teacher” event on Thursday.  The event will continue as scheduled, but we need to make modifications to our original plan to ensure our custodial team can complete their projects and families are safe around the building.

• Families will not be permitted in the classrooms.  The only safe areas in the building are our gym and cafeteria/multi-purpose room (MPR).

• PTO will be providing popsicles for families outside.  We will host a “Popsicles with Parents” on the playground.  Students and parents/guardians will meet their teacher outside.

• Supplies can be dropped off in the building, in the MPR or gym.  We will identify areas for each classroom to drop off their supplies.  Please bag your child’s supplies and clearly label them with your child’s name.  Students and staff will help bring supplies to classrooms by the end of the first day of school.

I am sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause your family.  We look forward to welcoming them into our “cool” building when it is ready on Tuesday, September 3 (grades 1-5) and Wednesday, September 4 (kindergarten)!

News for Kindergarten Families and Families New to Longfellow

If you have not already done so, please drop off your medical forms (physical, dental and vision forms) as well as any residency forms to the office ASAP prior to the first day of school.  Longfellow office hours this week are Monday – Wednesday, 8:00 to 4:00 PM and Thursday – Friday, 8:00 to 1:30 PM.
