Longfellow School: “A Great Place to Learn”

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Elementary School is a kindergarten through fifth grade school located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, serving students from parts of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, and other areas in the Wheeling District #21 community. Longfellow School first opened its doors in September of 1969. In May of 1997, upon completion of special building enhancements, Longfellow was rededicated to the community. Also, in 1997, as a result of renovations, Longfellow School received the American School & University Architectural Award for Outstanding Buildings.

In addition to providing students with a diverse and challenging curricular program, Longfellow School provides many opportunities for students, parents and staff to be active partners in the school community. Among these opportunities are P.T.O. programs and involvements, school volunteer services, family events and learning celebrations, intramurals, classroom and school productions, summer learning explorations, and curricular as well as extra-curricular clubs and programs.
